Campus Hub – Created by Student Entrepreneuer: Sahid Bangura

Campus Hub is an all-in-one app for the students at Radford University. Campus hub is an app that is free to download and available on all IOS devices. The app was founded by a student here at Radford University named Sahid Bangura. He realized that there was a problem that NEEDED a solution. As an entrepreneur that sparked an idea into his head, and he could not just sit around while no one acted on it.

                                                                                       

        Mr. Bangura is a Major in computer science with a concentration in software engineering. On top of major he is also pursuing a minor in entrepreneurship. As Mr. Bangura is pursuing his minor in entrepreneurship, he was required to take Entrepreneurship 350-New Venture Creation with Professor Travers.  While enrolled in this course Mr. Bangura had to work with a team for a venture idea as he completed the course and went through the process of creating a new venture, he realized that there was a problem with how students accessed the different resources provided. The issue that arises to access different academic, business resources, and connecting with their campus community was you had to load up different applications and be all over the place. Campus Hub allows the students to access all these different resources in one place within the same application.

                              

Campus Hub has a ton of different features, the main one being a place for student business services to publish their services that then allows other students to get in contact with the student running the service and fulfill their needs. Some examples of student run services would be someone who does nails or hair. Another feature would be the student marketplace. The marketplace is somewhere for students to list items that they are selling and allow other students to browse items that they may have already been looking for but would show someone who is already at Radford University selling that item solving the ease of sale issue you may run into if you used other services such as the item being too far away to get.

            For a more social side of benefits and features found on Campus Hub there is a whole section where you can find different communities of people you can join to make friends or have a study group in a subject you may be struggling with. Along with already established community group chats if there is one you want to join but is not listed you are able to create one. There is also an entire list of college tips that can be found that would help a lot of incoming students looking for ways to succeed in their first year in college!

            With all the benefits Campus Hub has to offer I believe every student can gain some insight by using the app. I think every incoming freshman should download and utilize the app to its full potential as there are a lot of early college education tips and it’s a great way to meet a community and make friends early in college. As a commuter I wish it would have been around when I got to college as I feel that is one part of college I have missed out in a way.
