In today’s competitive job market, the importance of networking, skill development, and pursuing one’s passions cannot be overstated. One highly effective way to achieve all these goals is by joining entrepreneurial-based clubs or joining a living learning community during your college years! These clubs and organizations provide valuable opportunities for personal and professional development, and in this blog post, we will be focus on six such organizations that can significantly benefit your future career and allow you to explore and expand your interests. 

 

Entrepreneurship Living Community 

“Unlock Your Inner Entrepreneur”  

 

Opened in 2018 in Moffett Hall, the Entrepreneurship Living Community offers a unique environment for aspiring entrepreneurs. Providing a safe space for students to explore and develop their entrepreneurship communities. This residential-based learning community gives students the ability and opportunity meet and develop relationships with not only students who share their interests, but also network and receive mentoring and coaching from faculty, alumni, and successful innovators and entrepreneurs. By joining this community, you’ll learn to think outside the box, take calculated risks, and develop the skills needed to thrive in the entrepreneurial world. 

 

Collegiate Entrepreneurs Organization (CEO) 

“Build Your Network, Shape Your Future”  

 

Joining the CEO club is like opening the door to like-minded individuals. Here, you’ll meet fellow students with a passion for entrepreneurship, and together, you can collaborate on projects, attend networking events, and gain valuable insights from guest speakers. The connections you make here will last a lifetime and open doors to exciting new career opportunities.  


The CEO club is run by Jackson Hughes, a Venture Lab brand ambassador and a second year Radford University student! Gobble ‘n’ Connect with the CEO Club, they have their first event October 30th at 11am in the Venture Lab! Embrace the spirit of Thanksgiving and togetherness while also networking with fellow leaders and entrepreneurs who share your vision for success! American Marketing Association 

“Master the Art of Marketing” 

 

Marketing is crucial aspect of entrepreneurship, and the American Marketing Association can help you become a marketing expert. Joining this organization will allow you to explore the world of marketing through workshops, competitions, and networking events. You’ll gain hands-on experience and learn how to create effective marketing strategies that are essential for any successful business venture!  

 

AMA at Radford University is run by your very own Juliana Hill alongside Vice President Alexis Gordon. Get ready to kick of this year with the American Marketing Association at the first social event! Join us September 27th from 5-7pm in the Bonnie Game Room! Games, fun, and endless laughter await! Challenge your friends, make new ones, and let's make memories together. Citizen Leaders of Tomorrow

Entrepreneurship is not just about making money; it's also about making a positive impact on society. Citizen Leaders of Tomorrow strives to bring students together to get involved and give back to the Radford community, on and off-campus. Giving students space to develop leadership and teamwork skills that will later benefit students in their personal and professional lives. Joining this club will allow you to explore your passion for social change while developing the skills needed to run a successful venture with a purpose! Davis Womens Network 

“Empowering Female Entrepreneurs 

 

For female students interested in entrepreneurship, the Davis Women's Network is an invaluable resource! It provides a supportive community where women can share their entrepreneurial experiences, learn from each other, and access mentorship opportunities. This club is a fantastic avenue for women to break through the barriers of the business world and empower themselves as entrepreneurs.

Mark your calendars for the Davis Women's Network Event on October 4th from 4-5pm in the Venture Lab, where you’ll have the incredible opportunity to meet Radford University's new Provost.
